Original Advertising Artwork

Hi all, I'm interested in seeing what artwork came out in the original advertising material for classic cars.

I'll go first, this is artwork for the 1965 HD Holden Utility.

I have this one framed in my bathroom.  I love the irony of the slogan!

Re: Original Advertising Artwork

Actually, a lot are on the net.  The one I posted is at a site called
http://www.edsel.net/adframe.html ; not from my wall.  Do a search for, say, "buick ads" and you'll probably come up with some of them.

                     Here's another one, a 1941 Chevrolet:

How often do you see the word "pep" in an automobile ad?

Re: Original Advertising Artwork

"Pep" is definitely an underused word, these days.  I think I'll try to work it into my conversation as much as possible, just like we did with "swell"!

Re: Original Advertising Artwork

I think I have to incorporate "spiffy" and "nifty" into my conversations as well. Anyway, to keep the thread in topic, here&#39;s a nifty 1919 tire ad:

ok, maybe its not THAT nifty

Re: Original Advertising Artwork

Am I the only one who pictured himself climbing behind the wheel of this &#39;57 Ford (presumeably the supercharged 312 NASCAR engine), revving &#39;er up to 3,000 RPM and dumping the clutch, smoking the tires right through that plate glass window and into the street, then tearing off into the sunset?

Sorry, hoodlum moment.

Here&#39;s something I&#39;d be more than proud to have in my garage, heck, I think I&#39;d give it its own house&#33;
<div class='bbimg'>http://www.plan59.com/images/JPGs/zep36blu.jpg</div>

Gotta love a semi-streamlined car painted in a cool shade of blue.

And wouldn&#39;t you like to see this on a billboard?

Ah yes, there&#39;s nothing quite like a Forward Look Mopar.  The &#39;59 Dodges are my favorites.  Particularly something outrageous like a purple ragtop, although a plain black four door would be nice and sinister.  They also very much look the part as police cars:

*small town sheriff leans on the door of your chopped and channeled coupe*

"D&#39;you know how fast you was goin&#39;, boy?"
