Yep, it's from Pittsburgh, but Old German originated at a Maryland brewery, made its way through Yuengling, and finally Iron City ended up with it.  I like Yuengling Lager for cooking, Rolling Rock is preferable for straight imbibing perhaps, but I would like to give Iron City a try.  Unfortunately, it is not easily found outside of western PA.  The original can was quite nostalgic, had a portrait of an old German gentleman with muttonchops and a vest, kind of Ansel Adams.

Boy! More like, what have I not done?!

Mostly, just keeping up with Life as it comes, but right now, I am WAY behind on writing an exclusive article on the Appeal of Mad Men for RetroSpective Magazine!!

Look for it soon, I hope to file my story tomorrow!!!

Got together with some other moms and made gingerbread houses.  It looked great til my son started eating the fence (pretzel sticks and frosting)!

Went to the gym then made a bunch of phone calls. Now that the holidays are over it's back to business as usual. Sometimes my life just seems so boring. *yawn*

I had a baby! 



Her name is Lily, and she's a very sweet baby.

Congratulations! Lily is a lovely name.

Thank you!  She's almost two weeks old now, and we're still adjusting to having her in our family.  Sleep is a precious thing!

She is named after my husband's grandmother Lillian, and my mother Su.  A good southern name - Lily Su!

Labor was relatively quick (just under 9 hours), and intense. Glad I don't have to do that again!! She is already starting to do 4 hours of sleep at a time, so I know more is on the horizon for me.

Hubby goes back to work tomorrow and I'm nervous about being completely on my own with her.

Don't worry about a thing - you'll all do just fine.  It's normal to be nervous, but remember - people have been having babies for years now, and you're a smart cookie who'll figure it all out.

By the way, when you do figure it all out, let me know...  I've got a 13 year old, a two 1/2 year old, and one on the way (a bit of a surprise, that one).  I still am figuring it all out.

LOL- I went through that with both. Try to keep the room dark & quiet at night, even if she is awake. And let in lots of light and sound in the day when she's sleepy and the tide will start to turn.
