Rev up the interest

I read the posts on good ol' ATOMIC every day, and it seems like I see posts from the same folks all the time. Don't get me wrong, I find them all of interest. It just seems like there are many people logged in as members that don't post for some reason. Is there something we can do to stimulate their interest? I for one, would enjoy hearing from them. Any thoughts?

Re: Rev up the interest

                     It's a good question.

It would be nice to have more participation, but not at the expense of the quality and good manners of the posts so far on this board.  In 9 months of operation we haven't had one flame war, one banned user, not even one deleted post (excepting the hackers).  We've also seen continuous growth in the number of registered users, and there are plenty of newer members (yourself included) who participate on a regular basis.

I've seen online discuccion forums go every which way, and I'm very pleased with the way ATOMIC has grown.  I don't believe there's a crisis at hand.  We welcome anyone to chime in with their thoughts on any subject, whether it's a soliloquoy or a survey or just a rant.  Any ideas you have to generate more conversation are welcome.

Re: Rev up the interest

I'd really love it if after I saw an old movie on TV, I could read the review in Porthalcyon.  Is that a remote possibility?

Re: Rev up the interest

Absolutley, and anyone who is interested in contributing should feel free to contact us.  Our online community is community run...each person brings a little something, and we all benefit.

As more and more movies are released on DVD, you'll see them reviewed here.  If there are any movies (or books or CDs) that you want to see reviewed, let us know and we'll do our best.
