Firefox

                     Totally unrelated to retroness.

But I have been using Mozilla Firefox browser for a few weeks now.

If you are using Microsoft Interent Explorer, do consider switching to Firefox.

It's much more stable, less prone to hackers and spyware, smaller and has some nifty features lacking in Explorer.

I won't be going back!

P.s. Thunderbird is also a great utility to replace Outlook/express.

Re: Firefox

We love the Firefox here, too...not wild about Thunderbird, but maybe I'll come around to it...

I just love sticking it to Microsoft whenever I can...

Re: Firefox

I downloaded Mozilla once. Never again. It wormed it's way into every nook and cranny of the PC, decided that it didn't want to display JPEGs, and was a right pain to get rid of despite claiming it was easy to uninstall.

Re: Firefox

I had to install one or two plug-ins, but didn't experience the difficulties you describe!

One added benefit I've noticed, is that I get a lot less spam these days. I thought I got a lot of this from message board postings, but since I switched to Firefox, my spam filters have a much easier time of it, and I haven't changed my internet usage!

It does take longer to load-up than explorer mind you.

Re: Firefox

I love my FireFox and Thunderbird. I want a plush Thunderbird but they only make the fox.  sad

The best plugins are by far Forecast fox, so I actually know the weather, and Ad Block. Because I like reading websites without 40 ads telling me to buy things.

And PH looks just as good in it!

Re: Firefox

Have been using Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird for months now.  No issues.

Yes, the first time I tried to view a flash site I needed to take a few seconds to install the plug-in that Firefox offered.  But, it went swimmingly.

And, considering the reduction in pop-ups, I love the browser.
