Re: Tattoos

well LMtell ya, I went back this past Thursday AND came home with another!!! I will try to post a pic soon...anyways, different artist and soooo much better....he blended the new one to meld with the other one and has plans for my other shoulder....so anyways I plan when I full on heal I will have the one in the photo above have the stems added, a lady bug at the top and then perhaps have a bit more dimension added to it...just have to pick a time when the artist that did the second one is working, he is amazing, and wants to take me to a convention and get me into a Tatt Mag...if that works that will be soooo cool!!!
Knappy, his name, is very light handed and it was no problem to make it the 2.5 hours that I was in the chair, and hey he bought me a Carona afterwards! lol AND it did not hurt, he is soooo cute!! tongue

Re: Tattoos

what're ya thinking about getting?

I've been wanting to get some swallows on my shoulder fronts, but I haven't committed - I'm a little concerned about my manly hairy chest making them look funny - I am getting a new one or two in the near future, though.

Re: Tattoos

I have 3 that I picked out at an early age.I didn't know myself well and feel they have no sentimental value.
I am hoping to have them covered.I need to find out if what I want is possible or understandable.
I would love roses in a deep rich red drawn in an Art Deco style on my shoulder blades. 3 on each blade acting as the corners of a frame.
Cover my lower back piece with the same roses. The center of my back I would like one of Vargas 1930s looking pinups.

That sounds absolutely beautiful! My big flower is a cover up! My first 3 were kind of like you, although I was not that young, but I got them rather on whims and chosen in the parlor....so I got the one on the shoulder covered up ( eye of horus and ahnk...though I still liked it enough, and still love all things doing with egypt....but just not on me) I have a cross on my lower back and to tie it in want it surrounded with either water and vines going up it, or flowers , and then I will most likely leave the one on my belly alone ( sliver of a moon with red "rubies" in the bulk and two "tails" at the bottom, with a start hanging off one tail and two more below it ( represents kids b-days as they are colored such) . My ankle piece my daughter Becky ( aka VITA )drew, and the artist adjusted ever so slightly and it is stillmy fav!

Re: Tattoos

I've been getting the itch again.

This winter we met a girl with some amazing ink-in-progress done by someone only about an hour away. She designed it, he drew it, and it's wonderful; It's a shoulder piece of her, in 50's housewife drag, at the stove...with a little dog leaping at her heels. Her dog, in fact!

It's a great piece, and I'm thinking of looking this guy up through her.

Re: Tattoos

That sounds so cool! I just got my left shoulder done last night...the most painful one , and the most expensive one as well! I will get a pic up after a bit of heeling...but it is of bleeding hearts...the flower, with a beautiful, magical pink butterfly amongst the leaves..... but geeze am I feeling it today big time! Last night it was very painful, more than the other shoulder, but today it is hard tolay down, hard to move, and I am taking pain killers for the muscle aches.....it will be a few months before I go back and get the humming bird , the last big part to the "garden" ....after that the spaces in between will be filled in with more butterflies, a queen bee, a lady bug....and whatever my artist wants so that it becomes solid....bit by bit.

Can't wait to see it! Sounds gorgeous. I love bleeding hearts. The flowers, I mean! smile

I should e-mail that kitten I mentioned and get the name of her tattoo artist....she's had it finished, but I haven't seen it yet.

Re: Tattoos

I do too....and it matches my personality too....everyone says my heart bleeds for others ....I take in strays of all types and take on everyones problems as my own. So very represenetive...the butterfly that is on it, represents that a soft heart is full of love for others and that love can make you soar , even if sometimes it hurts......my center one , the flowers are just ones I like, but the vines that wind around them represent that bit of twisted nature that I have, the dragon fly cause to me all my life, they have represented something that has to live life to its fullest as they only live a short time....and I try to live life to it's fullest. Then the other flower that I have represents that bit of wild side that have, as the petals curve everywhich way in a wild manner......

Thanks....I have a whole lot of other parts that I wanna add, a humming bird, queen bee , more butterflies, a lady bug and then some asian writing done in color instead of black. It will take me a long time to get it all done, and make it solid across the shoulders.

usually you would have to find a picture that you like and then have it re-created by whoever your artist is, so I would look at pictures books on Deco art and then you can have stuff reproduced.
