SusieQT Posts: 20	RIP Gerald Ford In honor of the life of Gerald Ford, I thought I'd share some of these photos. I scanned them from a 1940 Look Magazine I had, which featured a story about a weekend ski trip. Ford was a law student at Yale then- I guess he was generally known from his days playing football at Michigan. The girl in the pictures is not his future wife, Betty!

The girl was a model for Cosmo, I know Ford did some modeling there himself- presumably that's where they met? He met his future wife, Betty, a little bit later. I guess he picked up skiing while he was in law school- there aren't many mountains in southern Michigan, even if there's plenty of snow! He was drafted by the Bears (I think, or was it the Packers?) as a center after college, but chose to go to law school. Not many people would do that today, I guess!
