Considering the quality of Dennis Caiazza and Swing Factory's work, I am amazed that they are not as well-known nationwide as they are in their hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. Enhanced (Swing Factory Entertainment), Caiazza's second album, is a masterful rearrangement of classic and semi-obscure songs from the 1930s and '40s. The disc offers 12 smooth jazz and big band tracks that make your feet long for a pair of two-tones in which to trip the light fantastic.

The album kicks off with the Jimmy Lunceford classic "Jeep Rhythm," featuring the smooth trumpet playing of Joe Gransden and trombone work of Bob Lewis. "Blues in the Night," the Harold Arlen/ Johnny Mercer standard, is delivered in a smooth, sultry fashion with clever vocals that are reminiscent of how Gene Krupa's entire band played with songs.

Caiazza earns his right as crooner with the romantic "You Stepped Out of a Dream," while Swing Factory chanteuse Angie Driscoll melts the listener with "Knock Me a Kiss." Other songs of note include the playful Duke Ellington melody "Jack The Bear," Raymond Scott's cartoon favorite "Powerhouse," and a speedy rendition of Gershwin's "Fascinating Rhythm," which highlights flutist Eric South and pianist Randy Hoexter. But the album's coup de gras is the bouncing version of "I Can Cook," which features Driscoll's near perfect vocals.
