Chrome Daddies - Drunk and Mis-behavin'
Written by Dante Murphy

Drunk and Mis-behavin'Australia's Chrome Daddies are back with another live collection of sizzling rockabilly and western swing. On the heels of Gear Up Daddy, the band's fourth full-length release continues prove that these chaps from down under are tops at their game.

Starting off with Vince Taylor's classic "Brand New Cadillac", Drunk and Mis-behavin' features live performances from clubs and concerts all across Europe. Included are classics by Moon Mullican and Bo Diddley, contemporary covers of Dwight Yoakam and BR549, and a couple of originals written by frontman Doug Wilshire.

One of these is the blues-tinged "Cowgirl Mama", proof positive that these boys can play slow 'n' dirty as well as their well-evidenced quick 'n' clean. Drummer Geoff Townsley keeps the tempo low on another bluesy number, the Daddies' rendition of the train-rhythm "Crazy Blues". This number builds from grassroots vocals and chirping blues-harp to a steam-engine crescendo that highlights the ensemble playing of the whole band.

Just like Gear Up Daddy, the studio release recorded during the tour that produced this album, Drunk and Mis-behavin' is A-plus roots music from stem to stern. There's no question this band is the real deal, delivering 72 minutes of live performances that capture their energy and musicianship. Let this be the next disc in your Chrome Daddies collection...but not the last.
