If The Munsters started jamming in the Addams Family garage, they'd be San Diego's smokin' surf punks, the Creepy Creeps. With scratchy LP sounds, kinetic keyboards, pulsating percussion and gothic go-go guitars, their new CD album "Fink About It" (Dionysus Records) is a brash, breathless collection of monstrous imagery and retro rockin' beats. Catchy track titles include such head-bobbing tunes as "Chicken Creep Nasty," "Sea Creep," "7 Mau Maus" and "The Gooch." Obviously influenced by shock-a-billy bands like the Cramps and the Ghastly Ones, the Creeps serve up their own unique brand of hi-octane hipster horror. I've seen these crazy cats in action at Tiki Oasis 8: Voodoo Vacation on Zombie Island, where yours truly hosted the movie nite, and they really know how to haunt a house—loudly. Recommended for all of your year round Halloween parties, zombie flash mobs and any ghoulish gatherings requiring a deadly dose of razor-edged rock 'n' roll.
